Chris Raabe and Bobby Herrington dominant in Brighton Speedway Applefest Shootout

By: Tim Baltz - Night number two of the Applefest Shootout at the Brighton Speedway saw more excitement and, in the end, it was familiar faces rolling into victory lane and taking home another bushel of apples.

Justin Cyr was the early pace setter in the 35 lap DIRTcar Sportsman feature and was looking to score his first career feature win. On lap 5, Friday nights winner Bobby Herrington would take over the lead and start to pull away from a stout field of cars while using the outside lane. Behind the leader it was a battle of brothers as Justin and Gabriel Cyr put on a great battle for the number two spot. (READ MORE)

Late Restart Propels Herrington to second Applefest DIRTcar Sportsman win at Brighton

By: Tim Baltz - The 2022 edition of Apples-Eve at the Brighton Speedway, part of the Applefest Weekend, saw thrilling action all night long. The DIRTcar Sportsman 35 lap feature proved, it’s never over until the checkered flag flies.

Bobby Herrington and Trevor Wright led a field of 32 DIRTcar Sportsman drivers to green with Herrington taking over the lead with Brad Rouse, Wright, William Racine and Dylan Kirkland making up the early top 5. Herrington was quick using the bottom lane on the speedway, but Rouse was equally as good on the high side of the track, as he closed in on Herrington for the lead.

HERRINGTON HEADLINES WINNERS LIST ON APPLES EVE

By: Tim Baltz - It’s an event that has been ongoing since 2005 when an idea of bringing the DIRTcar Northeast 358 Modifieds to Brighton Speedway, went from an internet message board dream, into an on track reality.

Since that day in 2005 when Kyle Dingwall took home the first bushel of apples many drivers in several divisions have tasted how sweet victory lane can be and this weekend will feature veterans and up and coming stars looking to strike paydirt. (READ MORE)
